THE SPW CAREERS PACKAGES:

SPW Careers provides a careers and university education, information, advice and guidance programme which supports students to explore their career and university aspirations. It supports schools to improve their careers guidance and provides a careers programme which is bench-marked against internationally recognised standards of excellence, one of which is the Gatsby careers benchmark.

 

SOME EXAMPLES OF HOW WE CURRENTLY WORK WITH SCHOOLS:

1. ‘All-in’ School Support:

Includes school visit to conduct the age 15-19 profile and 1-1 student careers guidance interviews

Age 12-14

  • An online careers interests questionnaire and individual report for early careers research
  • Especially useful for students choosing their (i)GCSE subjects/international alternatives
  • Includes online resources, worksheets etc. plus lesson plans.

Age 15-17

  • A combined interests and aptitudes online profile (2-hours)
  • Produces a comprehensive individual report and online results
  • Includes a detailed 1-1 interview with a fully qualified and highly experienced careers adviser, with both UK and international schools experience. Typical topics covered: subject choices; university and degree course options; improving your application; alternative pathways; Oxbridge applications; study abroad; getting work experience. etc.
  • Students are provided with detailed individual notes and action plan (all stored electronically in their own personal webspace)
  • Each student has a personal webspace with careers resources which allows recording/tracking of research
  • School management system for tracking student progress/results
  • Particularly useful for students exploring options at A level, IB and other international qualifications

Age 17-19

  • One to one follow up session with students to advise on refining choices
  • Resources and advice on university/degree options and application processes worldwide
  • Online Mock interview tool

In this example StudentPathways membership is free.

 

2. Individual Year Group Options

Some schools choose either the Age 12-14, Age 15-17 or Age 17-19 option. These programmes can either be conducted in person or online.

3. StudentPathways Membership

To support schools who already have their own in-house careers programme, StudentPathways Membership provides Helpline support for careers related questions and extensive resources from Country Guides detailing university application information around the world to lesson plans and resources. Also includes a Monthly Newsletter.

* Membership is free for interviewing schools.

 

4. Consultancy Days

We offer a range of options on a day rate basis: Workshops & Talks; Mock Interviews; Oxbridge Applications; USA Applications (plus other countries), etc.
